Our Costa Rica travel experts have designed a convenient way to enjoy the Arenal Volcano region, with its hot springs and rainforest, as well as the Pacific beaches, featuring a stay at the award-winning Punta Islita Resort on the Pacific Coast.

Day 1: Arrive at the San Jose International Airport. Your driver will meet you as you exit the airport to take you to the offices of the rent-a-car company. Pick up a mid-size SUV and start the 2½ hour drive to the Arenal region. Enjoy the ride up the northern mountains of the Central Valley to the city of San Ramon, then down towards the flatlands of San Carlos, enjoying picturesque, quaint towns along the way. Check into a Superior Room with king bed at award-winning Tabacon Grand Spa, a member of the Leading Hotels and the Leading Spas of the World, then take the rest of the afternoon and evening to enjoy the hot springs resort and explore the region.

Day 2 - 4: Enjoy the Arenal Volcano region. Optional activities include hot springs resorts, spa treatments, tour on horseback or hike to La Fortuna Waterfall, Class III white water rafting in the Sarapiqui River, floating safari, canyoning, lake kayaking, hikes in the Hanging Bridges Tour, Sky Trek / Tram canopy tour, hikes in the Arenal Volcano National Park, and touring the Venado Caves. Overnight in a Superior Room with king bed at Tabacon Grand Spa.
In the evening of Day 4, prepare for one of your trip's highlights, a private three-course dinner with your own chef and waitstaff in a magnificent bungalow nestled in the gardens.

Day 5: At approximately 9 AM, start the drive to Liberia in Guanacaste. Return the rent-a-car and board the van for the short drive to the airport. Board the 40-minute flight to Punta Islita. Upon landing, the staff of Hotel Punta Islita will transfer you to their award-winning property where you will check into a deluxe room. Punta Islita, a Virtuoso property and Small Luxury Hotel of the World, is a remote beachfront hotel that features breathtaking ocean views from every room, two swimming pools, one of the country's top spas, and a wide range of water and land sports and activities.

Day 6 - 8: Enjoy Punta Islita. Optional tours include snorkeling, surfing lessons, deep sea fishing, horseback riding, and the local canopy tour. Overnight in a Deluxe Room at Hotel Punta Islita.
In the afternoon of Day 8, enjoy a couple's spa treatment at the renowned Punta Islita spa.

Day 9: Check out of the hotel and board the van for your short transfer to the local airport. Board the flight back to San Jose. Upon landing, the driver will take you to San Jose's top rated bed & breakfast, Hotel Grano de Oro, where you will check into a standard room.

Day 10: Check out of the hotel and board the van for the short drive to the San Jose International Airport and your return flight home.
